Kanye & Co. Reign For A 2nd Week

In fact, there's no movement for this week's Top 3 songs with Kanye West leading for a second week with All Of The Lights. Drake stays at No. 2 with Unforgettable and Cee Lo Green remains at No. 3 with Bright Lights Bigger City.

Four new entries to the Top 10 and one return shake things up a bit at the higher end of the chart with the Kanye West / John Legend Blame Game collaboration landing at No. 5 as Greatest Gainer of the week, Kid Cudi's Marijuana jumps to No. 6, Ellie Goulding storms up to No. 8 with Animal and Daft Punk's Tron: Legacy lead track, Derezzed, bows at No. 10. The return belongs to Kanye West Lost In The World collaboration with Bon Iver.

Obsessions by Marina & The Diamonds is determined to go very high on the chart as it scores the Power Play of the week for a second time and is also the Highest Jump, breaking the Top 50 and landing at the No. 43 position. Only two - rather weak - debuts mark this week's new entries, led by Katy Perry's Not Like The Movies at No. 93 and N*E*R*D's It's In The Air at No. 96.

Year-End Top Songs 50 - 26

A little delayed today, but the third chapter of this year's Top 100 Songs of 2010 Countdown is ready! Lots of surprises here as we see many recent songs make it in the 50 - 26 range including P!nk's Raise Your Glass, Ke$ha's We R Who We R, Brandon Flowers' Only The Young and Kid Cudi's REVOFEV, to name a few. Another highlight? La Vida Bohème gets 4 spots out of these 25 (that's already 6 songs in the Top 100 and we're not even done!)

In case you've missed it... Here's songs 100 through 76 and 75 through 51.

Lupe Fiasco Scores a 2nd Week at No. 1

The Show Goes On for Lupe Fiasco as he scores a second week at the top of The Chart with his first single from the highly-anticipated Lasers album, due out early 2011. The current lead for the song is too high for it to leave the top anytime soon, so it may very well become Lupe's longest-charting No. 1 so far. Following at No. 2 is another fast-rising track: N*E*R*D's I've Seen The Light / Inside Of Clouds. It could've easily become their first chart-topper but its fate will depend on how long it'll take for Lupe's track to start slowing down. Another highlight for the Top 10 is a new peak for Brandon Flowers' Only The Young. The second single from Flamingo sits now at the No. 5 position. The rest of the top 10 is pretty much stationary except for a re-entry by Interpol with Try It On.

Lupe Fiasco Goes On To No. 1

It's only been two weeks since its debut but Lupe Fiasco gets his second chart-topper with The Show Goes On, after jumping from last week's No. 7 position. This marks the rapper's second No. 1 on The Chart. His first came on 2008 with the album track Intruder Alert featuring Sarah Green, which stayed on top for 4 consecutive weeks. This ends King Of Leon's three-week reign at the top with Radioactive which now settles for the No. 2 position. Meanwhile, Ke$ha gets a new peak of 3 for We R Who We R, N*E*R*D get their second top 10 hit from Nothing now that I've Seen The Light / Inside Of Clouds jumps to No. 8 and Brandon Flowers gets his first as a solo artist with Only The Young coming in at No. 9.

Kings Of Leon Go for a 3rd, Lupe's Big Debut

Even with all the competition this week sees another reign by rock band Kings Of Leon, who now have their longest running No. 1 song on the chart as Radioactive stays on top for a third consecutive week. Following close behind is Marina & The Diamonds who make it to their all-time peak of No. 2 yet again but this time with their single Shampain. That'll probably end B.o.B's chances of going to the top with the Rivers Cuomo collaboration, Magic, which goes down a notch to the No. 3 spot. But things get more interesting thanks to a huge debut by Lupe Fiasco as The Show Goes On enters directly at No. 8, giving him his 18th overall chart entry and his 7th top 10 song. It will most likely become his second chart-topper in the weeks to come.

The Week's New Releases (Nov02,'10)

If you're following me on Twitter you probably already know what albums I'm getting this week without hesitation. Those would be N*E*R*D's Nothing because who doesn't like those funky beats and Mariah Carey's Merry Christmas II You because, based on the snippets I heard, that voice is soaring like it's 1994 when she recorded the original Merry Christmas. Other interesting stuff would be Weezer's collection of rarities, a new album by Good Charlotte and a re-release of Train's Save Me, San Francisco (Golden Gate Edition) ... whatever that means.

Merry Christmas II You by Mariah Carey
Nothing by N*E*R*D
Cardiology by Good Charlotte
Death To False Metal by Weezer
Pinkerton (Deluxe Edition) by Weezer
Armando by Pitbull
Save Me, San Francisco (Golden Gate Edition) by Train
Soulsville by Huey Lewis & The News
Vintage Vinos by Keith Richards

Upcoming Albums Track Lists

I've been meaning to do this before but keep forgetting, and now they've piled up! As you may know, this November is gonna be BUSY with plenty of new albums from your favorite artists (and mine). Kid Cudi, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Kanye Wesy, Mariah Carey, Cee Lo Green. These are some of the new albums I'm mostly looking forward to, along with their official track lists and links for you to pre-order if you feel like doing that.

Katy Perry's Lucky 7

This year's favorite girl is not only getting married this weekend! Katy Perry now owns 2010's longest-running #1 song on the chart as Teenage Dream remains steady at the top for a 7th non-consecutive week. I know there's still a few weeks left till '10 is over, but the chances of another song topping this one are slim. If you like facts, the only other song to have stayed at #1 for 7 weeks was Shadowplay by The Killers.

But is this Katy's last week at the summit? It may be, given Kings Of Leon's fast approach to the #2 position with Radioactive, which is the greatest gainer song for a second consecutive week. It only helps that their new album, Come Around Sundown, has just been released. Eight other tracks from that album enter the chart this week with The End leading at #68.

N*E*R*D: "Seeing Sounds" review

Listen to the words on the third album by the Neptunes' side-project rock band and you'll wonder if Pharrell Williams does anything but doubt the motives of the various women crowding the margins of his adventures in clubland. For a less depressing experience, ignore the lyrics and direct your full attention to N*E*R*D's full-color beats, which after a dip in quality on 2004's "Fly or Die" repay close examination here. Dig the way "Yeah You" layers a pop-soul saxophone lick over a funky jazz-rap bassline or how "Spaz" answers the long-burning question of what Stereolab would sound like if it were a nü-metal group. Thematically starved, "Seeing Sounds" is nonetheless a sonic feast.

Kanye West Tells A Story With His Biggest Hits, At The Glow In The Dark Tour's L.A. Stop

It was 11 p.m. by the time Kanye West began his set at the Nokia Theatre on Tuesday night, and the pressure was most certainly on.

For his Glow in the Dark Tour, West lined up a veritable who's-who in hip-hop, taking the stage after opening sets from Lupe Fiasco, N.E.R.D. and Rihanna. But as he wrote in his book of personal proverbs, "Thank You and You're Welcome" (passed out at the end of the show), "Old folks used to say, 'You can't soar with eagles if you're walking around with chickens.' If you know you're the best, it only makes sense for you to surround yourself with the best."

Although the openers brought along riotous entourages, when it was Kanye's time to shine, he made a point of going it alone. (In life, he recently made that decision as well, reflected in his split with now-ex-fiancee Alexis Phifer earlier this week.) It was a powerful statement of self-reliance, and all West needed was a computer dubbed Jane, who prompted the narrative of the set in a sexy, robotic voice.

At the start of the show, Jane told him that the Earth had lost all its creativity, and he must save us from our banal existence. Kanye looked like he was on a small island onstage, smoke billowing around him, and the fist-pumping crowd spilling out before him in the sold-out, 7,100-seat theater was like a roaring sea. The opening strains of "Wake Up Mr. West," from 2005's Late Registration, pulled him to his feet, and although it was nearly midnight, that was sort of the point: Whatever time it is in your life, you need to "wake up." Kanye is the Tony Robbins of hip-hop. In the past six months, he lost his mother and his fiancee, but he is here to prove he's carrying on.

The small set spread into a desert, and the skyline changed from shooting stars ("Flashing Lights") to pumping blue cells ("Heard 'Em Say") to a Hype Williams-designed gold hologram girl ("Gold Digger"). A sad cloudy sky filled the stage during his tribute to his late mother, Donda West ("Hey Mama"), which then rose to a red dawn, and Kanye, crawling up a hill, hunkered down with emotion, sat down until Journey's "Don't Stop Believin' " filled the theater, followed by "Stronger." "Homecoming" and "Touch the Sky" finished the set, and Kanye's carefully plotted narrative came to an end. When was the last time we saw a performer treat every individual song like a firstborn child? Kanye was slick with sweat but triumphant. His show felt like a front-row seat at a hip-hop Olympics, as if each athlete had tagged each other out until we finally got to Kanye. Still, every performance of the night was nothing but gold.

During his set, Lupe Fiasco sang his hit "Superstar," with Matthew Santos handling the chorus, and the rapper slid around the stage as if it were made of butter. When he cried out, "I love you, L.A.!" the crowd was only too happy to return the sentiment.

N.E.R.D. were completely at the top of their game, and "Lap Dance" was a sonic and physical explosion, as Pharrell Williams was eagerly intimate with the crowd, calling out to the "sexy girls" to join him, and telling the "ugly girls" to be quiet; apparently there wasn't a homely soul in attendance. Williams introduced "Everyone Nose" as their "indie joint" and called out to the stars of the song's forthcoming video: "Samantha Ronson told me this was the sh-- in the club — what up, Lindsay!" A jungle beat preceded the riff of "Iron Man," before the frontman ended the set singing about those girls lining up for the bathroom again.

Rihanna emerged onstage in a dominatrix-esque black-leather shorts suit lined in neon pink, her lips painted to match the lines. The Caribbean-born stalked the stage like a panther, phenomenally fit and limber as hell. Her newly inked star tattoos were etched down her right shoulder blade, perhaps to mark the year she became a full-blown star herself. The singer fired out an incessant artillery of hits. "Don't Stop the Music," "S.O.S.," "Shut Up and Drive" and "Unfaithful" all made the list before she paused to thank Kanye for letting her "glow in the dark with him," launching into an amped- up version of "Umbrella."

Still, despite an illuminated set in a theater lined with neon blue and green and an electrified crowd wielding glow sticks, it was Kanye's performance that glowed the brightest.
