Gotye Scores 5th Week at #1

It's week number five at the top of the Songs chart for the Gotye and Kimbra collaboration, Somebody That I Used To Know, and even though it's lost its bullet for the first time since it entered the chart eleven weeks ago, it still has potential to stay on top for several more as it's still ahead of Lana Del Rey, who settles for #2 once again with Video Games, by 200 points. Friendly Fires' former #1, Blue Cassette, rebounds to #3 in its seventeenth week on the chart.

More songs shake up the Top Ten this time starting with Bon Iver who score their first top 5 song as Towers moves up to #4 as Greatest Gainer track in its sixth week on the chart. Their biggest song so far had been Calgary which managed to peak at #24 by the end of last year. Another artist returning to the Top Ten is Santigold, who manages to get her new single Big Mouth to #6, which is also the peak of her previous chart entry Go! featuring Karen O. Santigold's biggest hit so far is 2008's I'm A Lady which peaked at #5. And Gym Class Heroes get their second Top Ten song from The Papercut Chronicles II with Ass Back Home featuring Neon Hitch moving to #7 this week. Their previous chart entry, Stereo Hearts featuring Adam Levine, peaked at #10 and sits currently at #32 in its 33rd week on the chart.

The chart's new entries this week includes more Gotye with Smoke And Mirrors getting the Highest Debut at #70, followed by Lana Del Rey's National Anthem at #84, Sean Paul's She Doesn't Mind at #85 and Vetiver's first chart entry with Can't You Tell at #98.

More Friendly Fires

It's safe to say that one of the the biggest surprises this year has been Friendly Fires' consistency and longevity at the top of the charts, both on Songs and Albums. With 12 weeks at #1, Hawaiian Air is now the third tune to stay the longest at the pole position of the Songs chart, only three weeks away from the record held by Mariah Carey's We Belong Together back in 2005. Meanwhile, Pala proves to be a strong contender in the albums of the year category now that it spends its tenth week at #1, thanks of course to Hawaiian Air's chart history and others like Live Those Days Tonight and Show Me Lights.

So for now, Paradise by Coldplay has to settle once again with the #2 position, while White Lies surprises as Greatest Gainer with The Power & The Glory which jumps to #9 in its fourth week. With 20 weeks on the chart, Stereo Hearts by Gym Class Heroes featuring Adam Levine rebounds as Biggest Jump to the #24 position and Incubus returns with Friends And Lovers as both Power Play and Highest Debut this week at #43.

'Moves Like Jagger' by Maroon 5 & Christina Aguilera

I really wasn't sure what to expect from this one considering that it might be just a cheap way for Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera to capitalize on their TV show, but it's actually quite a catchy number. That's all Adam by the way, because I feel Christina doesn't necessarily add anything special, except for a couple of high notes. And maybe that's not even a bad thing. As for Maroon 5? This should be Adam Levine featuring Christina Aguilera because it's poppier than the regular pop single from the actual band (I feel a rockier, edgier version would've been killer!). Get hooked with that chorus though, and let's just wait, hopefully, for the Cee Lo Green remix! Any minute now. The song is available on iTunes starting today.

On Gym Class Heroes' New Single 'Stereo Hearts'

After their last studio album The Quilt was released in 2008, American hip-hop band Gym Class Heroes took a break, with frontman Travis McCoy engaging in a solo project with last year's release of Lazarus. But the band is ready to return to the music scene with their fifth album, expected to be titled The Papercut Chronicles II. The first single, Stereo Hearts, is a collaboration with Maroon 5's Adam Levine and according to their Twitter page will be released on June 14th.

Sara Bareilles › Uncharted

This is a song by Sara Bareilles that I kind of like a lot more than her other recent single, King Of Anything. The Uncharted video features a bunch of known faces as well, including, but not limited to, Pharrell Williams, Tegan & Sara, Josh Groban, Ben Folds, Adam Levine and... yes, well Sara Bareilles herself is in it, although not a lot. There's some other people here as well, so be sure to check out the Youtube-like video and see if you recognize the rest. The song is included in her album Kaleidoscope Heart, released in September of last year.

Maroon 5 › Give A Little More

Here's the latest single from American band Maroon 5, Give A Little More. The video was directed by Paul Hunter and has the band playing in a party inside an old house while Adam Levine sings in between the crowd. Not too much else, except for all the sexy ladies having fun everywhere. That's my favorite type of video that's really about nothing. Give A Little More is included in their third studio album Hands All Over.
