Florence + The Machine Covers Drake
Watch Florence Welch from Florence + The Machine do her own epic rendition of Drake's Take Care, the title song from the rapper's recent album release. This is just one of the songs performed on the Live Lounge Special from BBC Radio 1 that was broadcasted this past November 25th. Other songs on her live set included the singles Shake It Out, What The Water Gave Me and No Light No Light from her latest album Ceremonials. Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) and Dog Days Are Over, from her previous first album Lungs, were also included on the setlist.

'Unchained Melody' by Lykke Li
Don't you think that the key to a successful cover version of a song has got to be the ability of the artist to take said song an turn it into a completely different and unique experience? But in the right way! I know that sounds like a big cliché - or at least that's what reality TV talent shows have taught us all these years - but, really, there's no right for somebody to take a good song and basically destroy it for no apparent reason. Especially when you love that song. A bad rendition will make your stomach ache. But thankfully, there are those that take their time and really put their soul - read soul as in "trademark style" - into it. Those that fall in this last category basically own it. Sometimes is so good, you'll think that it's even better than the original.
Having said all that, take a listen to this simple yet beautiful cover done by Lykke Li of The Righteous Brothers classic, Unchained Melody.

Linkin Park Covers Adele
One of the many covers for Adele's Rolling In The Deep I'm sure. This is actually the first one I've come across to be honest, but very fitting considering she's still ruling the charts. This live rendition was recorded in Hamburg, Germany. Good enough or just ok?

Lady GaGa's Born This Way Cover
There's way too many things I could say about Lady GaGa's new cover art for her new single Born This Way and one of them is just a simple but big Meh! .. Who is that in the picture to begin with? Plus, she should try some color for the next one already. The song is coming out this next Friday, it seems.

Hold It Against Me... by Sam Tsui
Browsing the YouTube website for comedic versions of your favorite songs is everyone's guilty pleasure... Ok, probably just mine. But every once in a while you find these well executed cover versions by random aspiring or independent singers that can seriously kick the original (song)'s ass. That is the case for this guy Sam Tsui who's made that Britney Spears song his own. Excellent would be the best word to describe it.

Nelly Reveals Cover Art for 'Gone'
Rapper Nelly has just tweeted his next single's cover art. This one is for Gone, the third single off his most recent album 5.0, which features Kelly Rowland. The last time I remember them together was for the 2002 mega-hit Dilemma.

Ellie Goulding › Your Song
A great new discovery to start off this new year. Ellie Goulding is an English singer-songwriter who gained recognition this past year with the release of her first album, Lights, later re-released as Bright Lights. The latter actually includes my favorite song so far, Animal. Your Song is her latest single and is a cover of the emblematic Elton John original.

The Rescues › Teenage Dream (Live Cover)
You know a song is good when everybody starts doing their own rendition. I can't say much about The Rescues except for the fact that they're an American pop/rock band, but what I can tell you is that they've decided to cover Katy Perry's recent hit Teenage Dream. Is it good? Well.. it's a very stripped down version of the song which is not a compliment considering that at some point I was expecting to hear the guitar and bass riffs from the original. And aside from the over-the-top harmonizing, you could say it's "Just Ok", meaning, it's certainly not better than the original but it's worth a couple of listens.
