Drake working with Florence Welch and The xx's Jamie Smith

Drake has been working on new material with Florence And The Machine's Florence Welch and The xx's Jamie Smith.

Smith told NME that he and the rapper were working on material for Drake's second album, while Drake looks set for a guest rap on Welch's next effort.

Smith said: "He’s a fan of The xx and my remixes and stuff and I sent him some beats. We’re just going to do some stuff for the next album."

Drake, meanwhile, told BBC Newsbeat of the collaboration: "We're working on 'Take Care' [the rapper's second album] together. Jamie is probably one of the most exciting producers I've ever heard."

He said his hook-up with Welch, who he met at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles and who joined him onstage recently in London: "We listened to all her new music and I picked which song I really want to get on."

No release plans for the new material with the two British musicians have been announced yet.

Year-End Top Songs 100 - 76

Starting today, and for the next four days, I'll be presenting you The TMJ Charts Top 100 Songs for 2010! With the last chart issue of the year posted this past Saturday, I was finally ready to build these year-end charts. There'll be 25 songs posted each day until next Thursday when I'll be posting the Top 25.

There was a lot to choose from, with 511 different titles charting all throughout 2010, but these are the Top 100 based on the accumulated points for this year only (songs charting since 2009 are eligible). The stats are based on chart performance for 2010 as well, and titles with asterisks mean they're currently charting on the weekly Top 100.

Gorillaz Covers The xx

I've been meaning to post this for quite a while... Gorillaz went on to BBC Radio 1's segment Live Lounge, among other things, to perform this killer version of The xx's Crystalised. Doing a cover is a hit or miss situation, and this is definitely a hit. So much that it may even make its way into The Chart. The original Crystalised first appeared on The Chart on January 9 of this year, peaking at No. 6 seven weeks later. It finally went on to spend 25 non-consecutive weeks after its last appearance in early October.
