J. Cole & Missy Elliott › Nobody's Perfect

'Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) Remix' by Katy Perry & Missy Elliott

In an attempt to give Katy Perry that final push to #1 in the US Charts, because that's what this is all about, here comes the remix to her latest hit Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) featuring none other than Missy Elliott. Don't get me wrong, I've had my share of Missy addiction, and I was excited to find out she'd be back on the music spotlight, but this, like many other remixes as of late don't add anything new that's worthy of recognition. Or maybe I'm just biased because I'm not a big fan of this single anyway. We'll see what this one does for both artists.

NOTE: the audio to this might be tweaked, but listen till the official version comes out on Monday.

Missy Elliott Returns on New Timbaland Track

From RollingStone.com:
A brand-new Missy Elliott track has surfaced online as part of Timbaland Thursdays, a new series of free tracks in the mold of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Fridays initiative. The song can be found on Timbaland's official site.

"Take Ur Clothes Off," a throwback to Missy and Timbaland's classic collaborations from the late '90s and early '00s, is the first track Elliott has released as a headliner since "Best, Best", a single from her long delayed album Block Party, came out in 2008. The rapper more recently appeared on Ciara's "Work" and Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes' "Let's Just Do It," both released in 2009.

It is currently unknown whether "Take Ur Clothes Off" is a one-off track for Timbaland's download series or if it is intended to eventually turn up on a new Missy Elliott album. As of now, Block Party does not have a scheduled release date.

Kanye and Nicki Set for Big Debuts on Billboard 200

From Billboard.com:
Early prognostications from industry gurus are pointing to a very handsome first week for Kanye West's new "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy." Sources say the set could sell perhaps 550,000 by week's end on Sunday, Nov. 28, easily securing it a No. 1 bow on the Billboard 200 next week.

If it arrives atop the list, it will mark his fourth No. 1 set following "Late Registration" (2005), "Graduation" (2007) and "808s & Heartbreak" (2008). The latter began with 450,000 and was released over Thanksgiving week -- just like "My Beautiful..."

Also gunning for a big entrance next week is Nicki Minaj's debut effort, "Pink Friday," which is on target to begin with more than 400,000. It could mark the best sales week for a female hip-hop artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. Currently, that record is held by rapper/singer Lauryn Hill's "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," which launched with 423,000 in 1998. (The best week for a straight-ahead female emcee was earned by Missy Elliott's "Under Construction," when it bowed with 259,000 in 2002.)

Ne-Yo's fourth studio album "Libra Scale" could launch with 125,000 while My Chemical Romance's latest, "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys," may start with 100,000 to 110,000.
