UK Charts: Lady GaGa Topples Adele from Number One Spot

Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' has scored the biggest first week sales of the year so far to end Adele's reign at Number One in the albums chart tonight (May 29).

Gaga claimed the top spot after shifting over 215,000 copies of the album, which was more than the rest of the Top 10 combined, according to the Official Charts Company.

In a dominant week for the singer, her 2009 debut 'The Fame' re-entered the Top 10 at Number 7, while she scored three Top 20 singles - 'Judas' (Number 9), 'Born This Way' (Number 17) and 'The Edge Of Glory' (Number 18).

Adele's '21', which has spent 16 of the last 21 weeks at the top of the chart, went down to Number 2. The Tottenham soul singer's 2008 debut '19' stayed at Number 3.

Elsewhere, The Prodigy debuted at Number 5 with 'World's On Fire Live', while the latest Frankie Valli And The Four Seasons best-of compilation 'Working My Way Back To You Collection' went in at Number 12.

Pitbull held onto the top spot in the singles chart for a second week with 'Give Me Everything', his collaboration with Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer.

The Saturdays' scored the highest new entry at Number 8 with 'Notorious', while Templecloud's 'One Big Family' debuted at Number 24.
