From Billboard.com:
With a 2-1 lift on the Pop Songs radio airplay chart for Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie," the song's featured artist Rihanna ties the mark for most No. 1s in the Nielsen BDS-based survey's 18-year history.

Rihanna joins Mariah Carey, who tallied six chart leaders between 1993 and 2005, Beyoncé (2003-10) and Lady Gaga (2009-10). The latter two acts equaled Carey's sum when their "Telephone" reached No. 1 in March.

(Carey's first eight singles in 1990-92, six of which topped the Billboard Hot 100, predate the Pop Songs chart's launch).

Avril Lavigne, Pink, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake share the second-highest Pop Songs No. 1 total, each having visited the summit five times.

Here is a recap of Rihanna's six Pop Songs No. 1s. Notably, from her arrival on the chart dated June 25,2005, through Feb. 28, 2009, she placed at least one title on the list in 190 of 193 weeks. After a six-month hiatus, Rihanna has appeared on the chart in each of the last 50 weeks consecutively, dating to the bow of "Run This Town," with Jay-Z and Kanye West, last September.

Title, Chart Date Reached No. 1

"SOS," May 13, 2006 (one week)

"Take a Bow," July 5, 2008 (three weeks)

"Disturbia," Oct. 4, 2008 (three weeks)

"Live Your Life," Dec. 27, 2008 (two weeks) (T.I. featuring Rihanna)

"Rude Boy," May 8, 2010 (two weeks)

"Love the Way You Lie," Aug. 21, 2010 (one week to date) (Eminem featuring Rihanna)

"Love the Way You Lie," which has spent the last three weeks atop the Hot 100, is Eminem's third Pop Songs No. 1. He previously reigned with "Without Me" (the chart week of July 6, 2002) and "Lose Yourself" (seven weeks, beginning Nov. 23, 2002).

Rihanna's achievements on the Pop Songs chart mirror her success on the Hot 100. Since her first week in charge of the Hot 100 dated May 13, 2006, with "SOS," Rihanna has logged seven No. 1s on the list, the most among all artists. Justin Timberlake is second in that span with four Hot 100 No. 1s.
